Storm causes quite a bit of damage
11/17/2011 9:30:13 AM
Yesteday's storm did quite a number on our system in Lee County. The Long Bridge and Prince's Bridge area of Lake Harding were especially hard hit. The Salem area over toward the land fill and Hwy 280 just south of I-85 suffered a lot of damage, as well.
TREC line crews have been working hard to restore power to all areas, and we are doing everything we can to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. Thank you for your patience.
When we are taking calls through our automated system, it is imperative that you call your outage in from a phone number that is on your account. If you don't, we don't know who you are. Then we have to research that "unknown" call to find out where it came from to ensure that we have all power restored. In a case like last night, there were several hundred "unknown" outage calls. So we wasted a lot of time trying to figure out who these calls were from. Please call us or email with all your numbers so that when you call from your cell phone it will show us your account information.
Example: If your power goes out and you go across town to your neighbor's house and then call the outage in from their phone, it will show up their account info (if they have an account with us) or it will show an "unknown" status.
This will help us to greatly decrease the amount of time that you are out of power. You can e-mail rnorris@trec.coop, cmorris@trec.coop, or wbrushwood@trec.coop. Or, call 334-864-9331
