Surge Protection

POWER QUALITY AUDIT
If a member of TREC is experiencing lightning problems and requests help, TREC will send an engineer or member service representative to provide a free power quality audit (800)-332-8732 ext. 731. You can also e-mail us: Rick Norris- rnorris@trec.coop

SURGE PROTECTION
The best defense for overvoltages to your home is a good grounding system. Before TREC will install/sell any surge protection device, a grounding assessment must first be performed. Once, a good grounding system has been established, then if a member desires, TREC will sell at cost the following surge protection devices:

Transient Eliminator (meterbase protector)
$15.70+ $1.41 (9% tax) + $15.00(installation) = $32.11

Max 8
Exclusive SurgeGate circuitry protects against prolonged over-voltages by automatically disconnecting the power to your equipment, then re-connecting it when the power has returned to a safe level. This special circuitry acts as a gate to prevent unsafe voltages from damaging your equipment: voltage OK = gate open; voltage unsafe = gate closed. Expandable with Max Allpath modules.
$44.00 + $3.96 (9% tax) = $47.96
PRICES SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE!

MAX TEL/1
Optimized surge protection for telephone lines. Telephone line circuitry has solid-state SIDACtors and auto-resetting PTCRs for maxmum protection and reliability. This device adds to an existing surge device such as the Max 8.
$15.75 + $1.42 (9% TAX) = $17.17

Consider replacing incandescent lights that are used for extended periods of time with fluorescent lights. Fluorescent lights use lower wattage for the same light output and they don’t give off as much heat.
